Counselling - one to one sessions
So how does counselling work? There is a lot of research backing up counselling theories which can be helpful to understand our behaviour. But for me the essence is: Counselling is the opportunity to look at what is going on for you while being with someone who has your back, believes in you and doesn’t judge, whatever comes up. A space where you don’t need to worry about burdening someone, a safe, compassionate and holding space to get to understand and accept how you feel, to reflect, to unpick.
I don’t know what is going on in the complexity of your life, how could I? I don’t know what is right for you, how could I? But I am curious to discover all of the facets of you, all of what makes you unique. Let’s work together with the aim to enable you to release your inner potential and find a balance in your life and your relationships.

For me counselling is not about fixing, it is about understanding and accepting yourself and finding ways to live a more joyful and fulfilling live and improve your relationships.

“ When you can’t see the light, I will sit with you in the dark”…until you have found the light switch.

I offer one to one counselling sessions, face to face or online. The sessions are usually weekly at the same day and time. You can find further information in the FAQ’s section.
Healthy Life Balance Support - one to one sessions
The image of a tree has always resonated with me. A healthy tree has strong roots and is well connected with its environment. In order to weather a storm it also needs to be strong but flexible. For me this is a perfect symbolism for a healthy human - strongly rooted, well connected and able to react flexibly when changes happen.

- Do you feel overwhelmed with life, constantly worrying, perhaps out of control?
- Has something happened that has shaken you and you can't regain your balance?
- Perhaps your roots have had a knock, you have been uprooted or the soil you are in is not providing enough nurture?

In our sessions I provide a a safe and compassionate environment, space for you to explore what you need to find your balance.
We will explore techniques that might help you to cope better with what is going on in your life and at the same time learn to nurture and strengthen your roots.

How is this process different from counselling? We will take a goal orientated approach and step by step look at what your barriers to achieving your goal might be. If emotional topics come up, we will acknowledge the relevance related to your ability to make changes. If you feel that getting to where you want to be needs taking a deeper look, I can offer counselling.

The aim of our sessions will be for you to regain control of your life - become a healthy tree again.

I offer one to one sessions, face to face or online. The sessions are usually 2-4 weeks apart. We will agree the frequency of our sessions together. You can find further information in the FAQ’s section
Healthy Weight Balance Support - small group sessions
We are made to believe that we can control our weight just by being strong and motivated enough to ”take on the fight”. Is this how it feels for you – a fight? Is that what you have done in the past or what you still do? Taking on the fight and losing weight just to find yourself putting the weight back on. Getting more and more frustrated, full of self-doubt, even self-loathing? A vicious cycle.
You might even feel like you have an eating disorder, an unhealthy and harmful relationship with food and your body?
Managing our weight is about so much more than calorie counting, exercise and eating “the right” food.

Our body and mind are a complex interconnected organism. How we process food is dependent on multiple factors, our physical health, sleep, stress, environment and to a big part (the biggest?) our emotional state. And all of it is constantly changing.

I have been stuck myself for most of my life trying to fight against my body to get to the weight I wanted to be. I have only been able to break out of the cycle once I understood my own personal complexity better and learned how to work with my body instead of against it.
I have successfully worked with many people struggling to manage their weight as a Lifestyle Advisor in the NHS but also as a counsellor. I would like to offer this support in a small supportive group setting for you.
