“ When you can’t see the light, I will sit with you in the dark ”

Do you feel stuck, perhaps anxious, and moving forward is almost impossible? Does it feel like you are just going through the motions and it is hard work and exhausting, you are overwhelmed? Or do things happen that leave you feeling shameful or guilty, isolated or lonely? It might feel like you are sitting in the dark, too scared or too burdened to look for the light switch.
Perhaps none of this resonates with you because you are just numb, you don't feel anything.
Or is your overriding emotion anger and frustration?
Or a mix of all of the above?
I would like to offer to be with you, sit with you, so the darkness feels less impenetrable.
I provide a safe and confidential space, warm and compassionate, and be on your side while you take the courage to look for what is going on for you. I can support you to find out what you need and what is best for you, aiming to find better ways of coping and relating to yourself and others.

When we feel low or in emotional turmoil, for whatever reason, we often revert to coping mechanisms, which have a negative impact on our physical and mental health, e.g. food, drink, smoking,... - a vicious cycle. Sometimes a goal focussed approach is useful to break the cycle. I can also offer to be the person supporting you through the process of identifying and making changes that have a positive impact on your overall wellbeing.
About Sabine
Who am I? I am a fellow human being who has been through challenging times in life and has found enormous help through the process of counselling. Counselling has helped me to understand myself better and therefore to be more in control of my life, to be able to use the light switch again.
I was born in Germany and lived there for most of my life. I have now found another home here in England. As a trained Engineer, I had a career in industrial manufacturing and Product Management. Because I was always more drawn to working with people a natural progression was a move into training and coaching. Subsequently, I took the step to train as a counsellor to be able to provide the space for others that has helped me so much.

Several times in my life I found myself unable to cope with the challenges of a plate-spinning life. In those times I have benefited from counselling. I have experienced how it feels to be “in the other chair”, how difficult it can be to make those first steps towards facing and beginning to resolve those issues which can overshadow our lives.
Choosing a counsellor can be a daunting step and it is important to find one that you resonate with. Meet me and go with your “Gut Feeling”- this feeling is the sum of our experience and can usually be trusted.
